How is my baby gear cleaned?
BabyQuip Quality Providers are certified cleaning experts. Before beginning the process of cleaning any baby gear item, they are first and foremost required to review the product manufacturer guidelines and instructions. They also follow the CDC guidelines for cleaning and are using PPE at all times. A meticulous 5-step cleaning process is followed for each and every item cleaned. Products are vacuumed, cleaned, sanitized, thoroughly dried and carefully reassembled. Rest assured that when you use our baby gear cleaning services, your gear will be returned sparkling clean! Read more about our cleaning process here.
Do you only offer car seats cleanings and stroller cleanings?
While the majority of our reservations are for car seat and stroller cleanings, we also clean a wide variety of other baby gear items including: high chairs, pack ‘n plays, play yards, swings, bouncers, rockers/gliders, toys, car seat bases, carriers, etc.
In fact, we can clean almost any baby gear item you have. If you don’t see it listed in the menu, please contact us at cleaning@babyquip.com or (888) 961-9880.
Who cleans my baby gear?
The person who cleans your gear is called a Quality Provider. (We also refer to them as ‘cleaners’ throughout the site.) To become certified and be listed on our site to offer baby gear cleaning services, a Quality Provider is required to complete extensive training, pass quizzes and thoroughly clean multiple pieces of gear.
We are always looking for more Quality Providers to join our team of cleaning experts. Click here to learn more if you’re interested in a new side gig with BabyQuip!
Why is it important to schedule regular baby car seat cleanings?
Besides the obvious yuck factor...food, juice, milk and other substances can make the buckles of your car seat sticky and difficult to unlatch in an emergency. Regular maintenance and baby car seat cleanings can help prevent this. Germs, mold, strep or staph bacteria can also lurk in your baby gear. A recent study found that the average car seat has twice as many germs and bacteria than a toilet!
Is BabyQuip Cleaning environmentally conscious?
Yes! Along with using only natural, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning products we use washable cloth rags rather than paper towels and reusable natural bristle brushes. By helping families extend the life of their gear with regular maintenance, they can use items longer, resell or donate them for use by other families.
What baby gear cleaning package should I choose?
If you aren't sure which package you should choose, we recommend 'The Works'. This is the most common package and will give your baby gear a thorough cleaning including: Vacuuming, Wiping Down Hard Surfaces, Steam Cleaning, Sanitizing & Disinfecting, Light Stain Treatment and Heavy Stain Treatment.
Should I tip my cleaner?
Tips are greatly appreciated. Your cleaning appointment includes a suggested 18% tip. You may change the tip amount before checkout or after your appointment by logging in to your account. 100% of your tip goes to your Quality Provider.
What is your cancellation policy?
Once a reservation for baby gear cleaning services is made, any service fees are non-refundable. If you cancel all or any portion of the requested cleaning services at least 24 hours before the pick-up/on-site service time, you will receive a refund of 100% of all other fees and charges. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your scheduled cleaning, you will also be charged a $25 cancellation fee.
How do I modify my BabyQuip Cleaning appointment?
To edit, modify or cancel your cleaning appointment, please login to your account. If you need to change the time of your appointment, please contact your QP directly (you can find their information in your confirmation email). Please reference our cancellation policy above.
Where do you clean baby gear?
We have three baby gear cleaning options for customers to choose from:
1. Customer drop off and pick up where you, the customer, drops off gear to be cleaned at a Quality Provider’s home and picks it up when it’s finished.
2. BabyQuip pick up and drop off where we come to your location to pick up your gear and return it when we are finished cleaning it.
3. House calls where we come to your location and clean gear on the spot!
How long does it take to clean a piece of gear?
It typically takes 30-45 minutes for a stroller cleaning or a car seat cleaning depending on how dirty your gear is. Our typical turnaround time is 48 hours if you drop off gear or if you have us pick it up. However, we understand sometimes you can’t be without gear for this long, so we will work with you on a turnaround time that fits your needs. If you choose a house call for one piece of gear, the cleaner will be at your home for approximately one hour. Time will increase depending on how many items you need cleaned.
Can you clean mold out of a car seat, stroller or other baby gear?
Mold is a tricky stain. If you see black mold spots on your baby gear, they will generally not come out of light colored materials completely. If the mold spots are brownish and on a darker colored material, they will typically come out and no longer be visible after a deep cleaning. We take extra steps and precautions to thoroughly clean and sanitize the mold infected areas on your gear. Although you may still see some spots after we clean your gear, rest assured that the mold has been cleaned and killed making it completely safe for your baby.
Do you do clean baby vomit, feces, urine or other biohazards?
Yes, we clean and sanitize baby gear that is soiled with bodily fluids and solids. You are required to choose the BabyQuip Clean package in order for us to have enough time to clean the gear properly using safe and proper precautions. Please inquire with your specific cleaner if you have further questions.
Will you reinstall my car seat after you clean it?
For liability reasons, we do not provide car seat installations after we clean a car seat. You can refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for installing or you can find a certified baby car seat installer in your local area. Virtual seat installations are also available from companies like Tot Squad.
Can you remove cigarette or cigar smoke odors from baby gear?
Smoke smells are tough and require spending extra time with gear. If possible, we suggest placing the gear outside in the sun for a few days before scheduling a cleaning with us. The fresh air helps eliminate the odor. If you need the gear deep cleaned along with removing smoke odors, we are happy to do so, but please keep in mind that it may require a few extra days to ensure your gear is returned to you completely cleaned and as free of smoke odors as possible. Please note that if odors are heavy enough, we may not be able to remove them completely.
How is my baby gear sanitized?
Our certified cleaning experts use a variety of sanitizing techniques approved by product manufacturers. The process includes making items clean and hygienic by removing or lowering the amount of germs. The techniques include using soap and water, hot water or steam, and washing and thoroughly drying.
